Earlier this month, Royce City police say a man identified as Eric O’Bryant was in his home with a guest, when two men armed with bats and a shotgun allegedly burst into the home.
Police reports say O'Bryant pulled a gun and fired at the two men killing one. The other man and O'Bryants house guest fled the scene.
When police searched the home, they found a small amount of the drug crystal meth and charged O'Bryant with possession.
Following the shooting, investigators were still trying to determine if he should be charged with murder when they got a call that O'Bryant was at his home but unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
While no cause has been determined as of yet, its believed that O'Bryant suffered a serious medical event.
