Running a marathon is no easy task, so to most completing 1,000 marathons sounds impossible. However, that’s exactly what one DFW woman is attempting to do next month.

Angela Tortorice’s will attempt to make it into the Guinness book of world records by becoming the first woman to complete 1,000 marathons at the Irving Marathon.

Already in the Guinness book of world records for “Most Marathons Calendar Year-Female,” Tortorice hopes to build on her impressive resume by completing her 1,000th marathon. To get to 1,000 she will need to run 10 marathons over the next two weeks. “Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina I believe, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, so a different state every single day,” said Tortorice of her record attempt.

According to NBC DFW, Tortorice hopes to complete her record at the Irving Marathon. The marathon takes place April 2, so she will need to do a lot of running before then. Hopefully, Tortorice will make it, and Texas will have yet another world record holder.
