Several cities and school boards in Dallas, Collin and Tarrant counties have local propositions on the ballot today.

The City of Mesquite is holding an election for voters to ratify the property tax rate that was approved by the City Council earlier this year. The Highland Park ISD is also holding a property tax rate ratification election.

Voters in Lewisville are being asked to approve a bond package to pay for new public safety facilities. Voters in Richardson are also being asked to decide on several bond packages to pay for streets, sidewalks and public buildings. Sachse is holding a bond election to pay for roads and a new animal shelter, while Wylie is asking voters to approve a bond package for street improvements and for the city's downtown historic district.

The Allen ISD has two items on the ballot for bonds to cover the cost of improving several facilities, including some athletic facilities. The Rockwall ISD is also asking voters to approve the sale of bonds to pay for school buses and new technology.

The town of Watauga is holding an election on the sale of packaged liquor. If the measure passes, stores would be allowed to sell alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption.

Tarrant County, Dallas County, Collin County and Denton County all offer information on-line for voters to find a polling place and information about items on the ballot today.

The Carroll ISD in Southlake has a special election for Place 7 on the Board of Trustees between Andrew Yeager and Stephanie Williams. The race has garnered national interest in light of a national podcast series on the debate over diversity and inclusion training at the district, as well as comments made by an administrator during a training session on books about the Holocaust.

There are two bond packages in the City of Fort Worth; $400 million for infrastructure and $116 million for a new criminal district attorney office building.

The Fort Worth ISD has four bond issues totaling nearly $1.5 billion for projects including renovations of school facilities, upgrades to auditoriums and other fine arts facilities, stadiums and the replacement of turf at athletic facilities.

Voters in the Mansfield ISD are deciding on a penny swap proposal -- shifting the revenue from the interest and sinking tax rate to maintenance and operation.
