A police chase took a tragic turn on Saturday with two left injured and one dead.

According to Arlington Police, they received a shooting call at 9:28 p.m. on Friday, August 6th located in the 800 block of Timberlake Drive. Upon arrival on the scene, police say they were told of a potential suspect car fleeing the area. This was followed by a chase of the suspect car believed to have been involved in the shooting which then refused to pull over.

The suspect car subsequently lost control while driving eastbound in the 2300 block of Marshall Drive in Grand Prairie, crashing into an SUV that had stopped to allow emergency vehicles past in the westbound lanes.

The impact ejected the driver from the suspect vehicle, following which they were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. The suspect car's passenger was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as was the driver of the SUV.

The crash is being investigated by the Grand Prairie Police Department, while Arlington Police is investigating the shooting call and felony-grade offense of fleeing from police.

The suspects identity will be released once the next of kin has been notified.
