Texas emergency resources and personnel are on standby Friday in case of widespread severe weather that has been predicted for the Dallas-Fort Worth area and other parts of the state.
Weather forecasters say there is a chance for intense storms including high winds, hail, and a chance of tornadoes and that much of North Texas is under an Enhanced Threat.

At the direction of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Division of Emergency Management is activating urban search-and-rescue teams from Texas A&M Task Force One and Task Force Two.
Some of the resources standing ready include Texas A&M Forest Service saw crews, Texas Parks-and-Wildlife boat teams for help in water rescue operations, and Texas National Guard transportation platoons and helicopters with hoist capability augmented by Texas DPS helicopters.
