According to Fair officials, about 2.2 million visitors came this year, down a little from the usual figure of about 2.5 million.
With last year's Fair canceled because of the Coronavirus, it had been more than 700 days since the last gathering.
Most vendor seemed pleased with this year's turnout. More than a half-million Fletcher's Corny Dogs were sold. About 36,000 toys were won on the State Fair Midway, and 125,000 people took a ride on the Texas Star Ferris wheel.
