Susan Wright has announced plans to run for the 6th Congressional District seat occupied by her late husband, Congressman Ron Wright, who died earlier this month from the Coronavirus.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called for a special election on May 1st.

Susan Wright is a long-time member of the Texas State Republican Executive Committee. She also has political experience as district director for two former GOP Congressmen, David Cook and Bill Zedler.
Three others have announced interest in running for the 6th Congressional District seat including; Jana Lynn Sanchez, Lydia Bean and Shawn Lassiter.
