Fort Worth Police Department arrested a suspect on Tuesday afternoon after a drive-by shooting took place at the Fort Worth Fire Department's Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex.
Police say the incident took place at around 3:30 p.m., as the suspect was in a white Ford Taurus and fired five shots at the building's exterior from their vehicle.
The vehicle reportedly fired an additional three shots directed towards the nearby Fire Station 17, and only hit the exterior of the building as well.
No one was injured in the drive-by shooting.
There were 30 fire personnel at the 8-story building for training operations at the time of the incident.
Fort Worth Police arrived at the scene and quickly arrested the suspect, taking them into custody immediately. The suspect's identity or motive for the drive-by shooting is not currently available.
"While there is no known threat to fire service personnel, the Fire Department is taking this situation seriously and using precautionary measures at all fire stations," Fort Worth Fire Department said in a statement.
"We are incredibly grateful that no one was injured in this drive-by shooting today. The safety of our firefighters is a priority and this senseless act of random violence will be handled with the utmost attention and diligence."
