ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD)- Police in Arlington have arrested a man in connection with the city's first two murders of the year.
On the evening of January 7th, Jy'Tavious Fields, 31, and Martell Brown, 21, were shot to death in the parking lot of the Felix Apartments on Cypress Club Dr.
No suspects had been arrested in the case -- until now.
"Over the last several months, our detectives have been working very hard investigating this case," says Tim Ciesco, Arlington Police spokesman, "looking for evidence, coming up with leads (and) talking to various witnesses.
"We were able to connect an individual to this double homicide," Ciesco continued. "That was 19-year-old Julius Rollins. And then earlier this week, we took him into custody on one count of capital murder."

According to the arrest affidavit, Rollins was actually out on parole at the time for aggravated robbery, and he was wearing an ankle monitor.
Investigators say Rollins cut the ankle monitor off days later and tried to flee the state, but he crashed his vehicle and was arrested on unrelated charges and parole violation.
Ciesco says the investigation into the murders continues.
"At this time, a motive still remains unclear," says Ciesco. "But through the course of the investigation, we did collect evidence that connects Mr. Rollins to this specific crime, which is why we decided to go ahead and move forward with charging him with capital murder in this case."
