More than a decade after a teenage girl was found murdered in Ellis County, a long-sought suspect has now been returned from Mexico.

Last year, Jennifer Puente was tracked down there after living on the lam since 2012 when the body of the victim -- a 15 year-old named Moriah Gonzalez -- was found on fire in a field in Ennis.

Early on, police arrested Puente's then-boyfriend Joe Alvarado, who is now serving a 34-year stretch for his part in the killing.

Puente was arrested in Mexico and extradited to the United States, where she is being held in the Ellis County Jail awaiting trial.

"We continue to pray for the family members of Moriah as they continue to navigate life without her," the Ennis Police Department said in a statement.
