The fallout continues over a secret recording of the head of IT systems at the Tarrant Appraisal District.
Tarrant Appraisal District Board Chairman Tony Pompa has confirmed to KRLD News that Cal Wood has been fired as its head of IT systems.
It comes four days after Wood was suspended after a recording surfaced of him urging his staffers to lie about its ongoing issues with its website.
"I'm okay with creating a false narrative that distances the truth from the media," Wood was captured on audio saying during the staff meeting.
TAD launched its new website at the same time property valuation notices were posted, leaving homeowners scrambling to file their protests.
This latest incident has led to many elected officials, including Tarrant County Judge Tim O'Hare, calling for Chief Appraiser Jeff Law to be fired.
