Less than two weeks after a fatal shooting at a Tarrant County strip club, the Commissioners Court has approved new rules governing sexually oriented businesses.
The new rules say such clubs will now have to close by 1 a.m. and their parking lots must be cleared by 1:15 a.m.
It was about 3:15 a.m. on May 28th when a man opened fire in the parking lot of Temptations Cabaret on Camp Bowie Boulevard in far west Tarrant County. Three people were wounded and the gunman was shot and killed by a security guard.
Immediately following the recent shooting, Tarrant County Commissioner Manny Ramirez started the process of having the club closed permanently. It has long been a source of complaints from neighbors.
Last year, Sheriff's deputies have responded to well over 100 calls about problems at that specific club. Four people have been shot and killed at that location in the past five years, according to police reports.
