Arriving by helicopter, Dykes landed at mid-field, greeted by the TCU Horned Frog Marching Band and a few hundred fans. He then walked to the south end zone to sound the "Frog Horn", the retired Burlington Northern train horn that sounds when the Frogs score a touchdown. Afterward, he met with the players.
Dykes, the son of long-time Texas Tech coach Spike Dykes, coached four seasons at SMU, compiling a 30-and-18 record. He will be formally introduced at a new conference today.
