Two North Texas teens who were badly hurt in a wrong-way crash near Wilmer earlier this week are getting better. However, their road to recovery will be a long one.
14-year-old Rebecca Campa and 15-year-old Reuben Vasquez are still in intensive care and will have to undergo several surgeries, but both are expected to recover.
Campa's father says the family is devasted but support from the community is helping.
The Palestine teens were hurt after a wrong-way driver slammed into their car along I-45 on Sunday night. Their coach Michael Coyne was killed in the crash.
The family gifted the Mavs playoff tickets to the kids to help lift their spirits after Rueben's 16-year-old brother was killed in a crash on May 7th.
A candlelight vigil for the victims will be held on Thursday night at Palestine High.
The woman driving the wrong was also killed in the crash along with her two young children.
