Reaction to the Politico story has been swift of a leaked draft opinion indicating that the Supreme Court may strike down the historic Roe vs Wade opinion.

If the Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade, abortion would essentially be banned here in Texas. The state’s trigger law would kick in after 30 days, making it a felony to perform or help provide abortions. The only exception is if there is major risk to the woman's life.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said on Twitter that he hopes SCOTUS returns the question of abortion where it belongs; the States, adding that he'll continue to ensure that Texas protects the unborn and pray for the end of abortion across our nation. #ProLife

Joe Pojman with Texas Alliance for Life tells the Texas Tribune that the news is encouraging, but he’s holding his breath and waiting to see the final opinion.

Texas Right to Life tweeted, "please pray that the justices will be courageous. The leak could be an attempt by pro-abortion radicals to intimidate the court." John Seago with the group says the fight is "not done yet."

But Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas isn't surprised the conservative court wants to overturn Roe, the group says it's built for this fight.

There's been no activity on Governor Abbott's social media since the report.
