Some kids in Fort Worth had an adventurous ride into school this morning.
At around 7:30 a.m., a Fort Worth ISD bus with three kids onboard got into a minor crash with a passenger vehicle on East Rosedale St. in the Stop Six neighborhood.
"The bus was involved in a relatively minor fender bender with another vehicle," said Matt Zavadsky, MedStar spokesman. "However, the bus actually slid a little bit off of the pavement, and the shoulder of the road was slightly depressed and a little bit softer than the pavement."
The bus then slowly tipped over until it ended up on its drivers side.
The scene looked far more dramatic than it was.
"We were very fortunate that the velocity of the crash was very minor (and) the tipping over of the bus was very slow," said Zavadsky. "So none of the children, nor the driver, nor even the driver and the other vehicle suffered any injuries at all."
Everyone on the bus got out through the rear emergency exit and the roof hatches.
After the kids were evaluated at the scene, another vehicle took them the rest of the way to school.
"Very low speed incident, very minor crash," said Zavadsky. "It was just very visually dramatic, because you don't ordinarily see a school bus on its side on the side of the road."
