After heavy rain and ferocious winds kicked up between Dallas and Corsicana, there's a big mess to clean up today in Navarro County.
The Navarro County Office of Emergency Management is working on a train derailment in the town of Powell, about ten miles east of Corsicana.
Wednesday evening, the freight train veered off the rails near Highway 31 where it goes through Powell. It's a Union Pacific train and UP says more than two dozen cars derailed.
Navarro County OEM is not yet confirming the cause was due to the high winds which, at the time of the incident, were gusting up to near 50 miles-an-hour in Navarro County.
