FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD)- The trial of one of the men charged with killing a Fort Worth police officer is delayed because he had swallowed razor blades.
Timothy Huff, 36, is charged with capital murder in the September 2018 shooting death of Fort Worth Police Officer Garrett Hull.
The jury in his trial is seated, and opening statements were expected to begin today.
District Court Judge George Gallagher was made aware of the situation in open court without the jury present.
Huff is currently at JPS and will be monitored for two to three days to see if he passes those blades.
Barring any further complications, opening statements will now begin next Monday.
Huff is one of two men facing capital murder charges in Hull's death; Samuel Mayfield's trial date has not been set.
The man who fired the fatal shot, Dacion Steptoe, was killed when officers returned fire during the shootout.
