After being notified that the children were trapped, crews arrived within minutes and ran into the apartment, where they found one of the kids outside the front door. He was rushed to medics waiting outside.

Firefighters found the second child inside the apartment and brought him out safely, according to the post. Both required immediate medical attention, and two medical helicopters arrived to transport them to Parkland Hospital.

Two other children escaped from the building with an adult male via a second-story window, and all three sustained minor injuries and are being treated at Parkland Hospital, the post said.

The fire at the two-story building was escalated to a two-alarm fire, but thanks to the 80 fire personnel who responded, it was extinguished.

The Fort Worth Fire Department shared that the cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under investigation.

No additional details have been released at this time.
