Arlington (1080 KRLD) - A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after killing a man who was en route to work, but he wasn't the only one arrested at the scene.

Shortly after 1:30 Tuesday morning, a 62-year-old man was driving westbound on Randol Mill Rd. in Arlington's Entertainment District.

"An intoxicated driver was traveling northbound on AT&T way, ran the red light and T-boned the gentleman that was going to work," says Arlington Deputy Police Chief Christopher Cook. "Not only did he run the red light, but he was at a high rate of speed when he T-boned the other driver."

The 62-year-old man died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that ran the red light, Dangelo Ortega of Garland, was arrested and is charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Police soon made another arrest in an unrelated case.

"While we were checking the identities of two of the passengers, one of them had a murder and an aggravated assault warrant out of Harrison County," says Cook.

The passenger, Latarik Jackson, is being held in the Arlington Jail awaiting being brought back to Harrison County.

The other passenger was not arrested.

The identity of the 62-year-old man has not been released yet.
