A sunny afternoon in a Fort Worth neighborhood was shattered by a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon.
Responding to calls of the shooting in the 8500 block of Steel Dust Drive, Fort Worth police discovered three boys, ages 17, 5 and 18 months with gunshot wounds.
Despite medical treatment at the scene and transport to nearby hospitals officials said 17-year-old Jamarrien Monroe and 5-year-old Rayshard Scott died. The 18-month-old victim suffered minor injuries and is expected to survive.
Fort Worth police are reporting an unknown number of individuals drove to the location where they fired at a group of individuals in the front yard, injuring the three young victims.
In a press conference Fort Worth Police Chief Noakes said "When you have children who are murdered completely senselessly, it adds just another level to that tragedy we're all experiencing".
Anyone with any information is urged to call Fort Worth police.
