43-year-old Donald Hazard of Hurst and 44-year-old Lucas Denney of Mansfield are both facing several charges that include assaulting law enforcement with a dangerous weapon or resulting in bodily injury and engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds.

Federal prosecutors say Denney, of Mansfield. used social media to recruit members to a militia group called the Patriot Boys of North Texas and that he communicated with Hazard prior to January 6th. They say both men were at the Capitol during the riot and were both dressed in tactical gear.

Denney is accused of shoving a police officer, trying to take canister of crowd-control spray away from another officer and the attacking that officer with a metal pole.
