The United States Supreme Court will not be overturning the state's new maps for the Texas legislature after deciding there's no evidence the maps were drawn to favor Republicans.
Several groups sued over the maps for Texas State Senate districts that were adopted last year.
The lawsuit focused on changes to State Senate District 10 which covers part of Tarrant County. The map adopted changed the district's boundaries and the lawsuit claimed that it was drawn to illegally harm minority voters.
A lower court allowed the map to stand and the case went to the US Supreme Court for review. The Supreme Court then dimssed the challenge to the district lines.
