Brooker says Durand suffered the loss of both ears, her nose, lips, and most of her face. Brooker says Durand was hired to look after the dogs while the owners were out of town, and they originally told her they would be in a kennel.

Since the attack, Brooker says the owners have not had contact with Durand, but they have hired a lawyer to try to prevent the dogs from being euthanized.
