There’s been a lot of buzz lately about ChatGPT, OpenAI’s language model. We had a craving for burgers and decided to see what it could do.

ChatGPT doesn’t have taste buds – or opinions, according to a response it provided to KRLD when we asked where the best burger joints in Dallas are located – so this list might be way off track. Let us know what you think.

“As an AI language model, I don’t have personal opinions, but I can provide you with a list of five popular burger places in Dallas, Texas that are highly regarded by locals and visitors,” said the ChatGPT response. “It’s important to note that tastes can vary, so this list is not definitive, and it’s always a good idea to explore different options based on your personal preferences.”

Here’s the list, which ChatGPT said is “in no particular order” (KRLD has provided addresses for each option):

1.       Twisted Root Burger Co. (2615 Commerce St.): “Known for their creative and delicious burgers, Twisted Root Burger Co. offers a wide variety of options with unique toppings and flavors. They also have a laid-back atmosphere that adds to the overall experience.”

2.      Maple & Motor (4810 Maple Ave.): “This popular dive bar serves up classic, no-frills burgers with generous portions. Maple & Motor is loved for its juicy burgers, friendly service, and casual vibe.”

3.       Keller's Drive-In (10554 Harry Hines Blvd.): “A Dallas institution since 1950, Keller's Drive-In is a nostalgic burger joint that has retained its charm throughout the years. They are famous for their greasy, old-fashioned burgers and classic car-hop service.”

4.       Off-Site Kitchen (this one is, unfortunately, closed): “Offering a selection of gourmet burgers, Off-Site Kitchen has gained a reputation for its quality ingredients and bold flavors. Their burgers are made with fresh, high-quality meat and served in a casual, no-fuss setting.”

5.       Hopdoddy Burger Bar (multiple Dallas locations, including 3227 McKinney Avenue, Suite 102): “Known for their handcrafted burgers made with high-quality ingredients, Hopdoddy Burger Bar has become a popular spot in Dallas. They offer a range of burger options, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices, and their unique flavors and toppings make for a memorable dining experience.”

“These are just a few of the notable burger places in Dallas, but the city has a thriving food scene with many more options to explore,” ChatGPT added. It also warned that it can sometimes provide incorrect information and that it is “not intended to give advice.”
