Ask The Expert: What do the new rules mean for flight cancellations?

This week, the White House announced it will set up new rules for what passengers can expect, if they have to deal with flight cancellations that could have been prevented.

The administration is working on those rules that could be finished by the end of the year. Airlines would have to pay passengers in cash for long flight delays, when those carriers are responsible. They'd also have to pay for hotels and meals as well.

The rules would apply to domestic flights or international flights that start in the US, or return to the US.

Right now, we don't expect much and in some cases, we're on our own if we're stuck at the airport.

What does this really mean? On today's Ask The Expert, Casey Carr joined us from Sharon Carr Travel.
