A well-known pie restaurant near White Rock Lake suffered heavy damage from a late afternoon fire.
Dallas Fire Rescue says the fire broke out around the back of the Humble Pie Shop on Garland Road near North Buckner.
Dallas Fire-Rescue got the call just past 4 p.m. and when they arrived they could see the heavy black smoke flowing from the back side of the building. By then, the flames had burned into the back of the building where the kitchen and storage areas are.
The fire was contained to the back but the dining area up front has heavy smoke damage.
The couple who own the shop posted on their Facebook page: "We don’t know the extent of it, but all of the staff at our shop and all of the neighboring shops are safe."
