The new year is starting with a lot of openings at schools all over Texas. And the future isn't so bright either.

The Texas State Teachers Association reports that almost 3 out of every 4 teachers are serious about finding another direction for their careers. 70 percent say they're ready to quit their jobs in the next year.

The biggest blame for it goes to morale, attacks on them by political groups, and the pandemic. A lot of them also blame the state of Texas for neglecting them.

They also say the paychecks that they receive... just aren't worth the hassle. Their morale is low because the state refuses to find a way to protect students. The study also says 85 percent believe that state lawmakers don't like them very much.
