Nearly a year after her husband died in Mexico, the widow of Arlington firefighter Elijah Snow is suing their travel agency along with RCM Hotel, Blue Diamond Hotels and Resorts and Sunwing Travel Group.
The lawsuit filed in Tarrant County seeks over a million dollars for loss of inheritance, mental anguish and past and future loss of companionship.
Jamie and Elijah Snow were on an anniversary trip to Cancun, Mexico when he disappeared from their all-inclusive resort in the middle of the night. The next day, he was found dead.
Mexican investigators portray his death as an accident but Jamie Snow believes her husband was kidnapped, robbed and murdered.
She accuses the defendants of negligence by with-holding information about crime in Cancun, by over-serving guests alcohol and by failing to have adequate security measures.
