A woman's body has been pulled from Grapevine Lake but investigators do not believe she drowned.

On Thursday afternoon a driver on Fairway Drive, which crosses the dam that creates Grapevine Lake, reported seeing a body in the water.

Grapevine police went to the scene to confirmed it. First responders including Grapevine and Flower Mound fire departments then put boats on the water and recovered the remains.

Police say they determined the body had suffered trauma which they call "inconsistent with drowning."

The Medical Examiner will have to determine who she is, how she died and how long she'd been in the water. Detectives searched the area looking for clues but they have not said if anything was found.
