WYLIE (1080 KRLD)- The Wylie ISD community is grieving the loss of one of its beloved teachers.

Lacie Moore was a fifth grade Language Arts teacher at Davis Intermediate School.

Sunday night, Moore and another adult were found shot to death inside a home in the small city of Josephine, in far southeastern Collin County.

Moore joined the Wylie ISD in 2020.

"Mrs. Moore positively impacted the lives of so many students," Davis Principal Cody Summers said in a letter sent to families Monday morning, "and we are heartbroken by the loss of this incredible teacher and even better person.

Josephine Police have not released any additional information on the killings, including the name of the other victim or the circumstances.

The police chief says this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community.

The Wylie ISD has additional counselors on hand for any students, staffers or families needing support.

A Go Fund Me was also set up to help support Lacie's family.
