Staff members at a Pennsylvania high school reported a “bobcat” on the loose which caused an evacuation from the buildings on campus, UPI reports.
Students at West Scranton High School were sent home early on Tuesday when the feline was caught on security camera, and officials believed that it was a wild bobcat.
When Animal Control arrived on the scene, they agreed it was a bobcat and contacted the state Game Commission.
After the animal was captured, authorities soon realized that it was not a wild bobcat; it was actually a Clouded Jack house cat.
The cat was microchipped, and a local animal shelter was able to identify the feline. It’s name is Kakashi, and had been reported missing three months prior to this incident.
The cat has since been reunited with it’s family.
