Rumors are swirling about Melania Trump and the possible embarrassment she may be feeling from her husband.
The former First Lady made an Easter appearance with Donald Trump, after previously skipping his arraignment and post-arraignment speech.
It was the first time she's been seen in public since the former president's indictment on 34 counts of falsifying business records connected to hush money paid during the 2016 presidential election to porn actress Stormy Daniels, who alleged they had an affair.
Melania's appearance came after Donald apparently begged her to be by his side and eat dinner with him -- and she finally gave in, according to Page Six. The couple was spotted at Mar-a-Lago eating Easter brunch behind a velvet rope.
"He told her, 'I really need you for this because we are going to be campaigning,'" a source told the publication. "They had a major talk over the weekend, and she has agreed to be on board."
The source added, "The fact it was the two of them alone was a big statement. This was a statement [saying], 'We are together, I stand by my husband.'"
According to People though, a different source claims the only plans Melania has for the future are to avoid being seen in public with her spouse, saying "It is not comfortable for her."
"Melania can be aloof and not particularly friendly because she simply wants to be left alone," the source said. "At this stage of her life she does not want to be in the spotlight."
The source added, "Melania's normally quiet and in the background manner has served her well in the series of scandals plaguing her husband. I assume this will continue."
Prior to the indictment, sources told People that Melania was angered by her husband's role in the alleged hush-money scandal.
"She remains angry and doesn't want to hear it mentioned," a source told the publication. "She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends."
The former president has denied having a sexual liaison with Daniels and has denied any wrongdoing involving payments.
