Social Security Administration says more than 750,000 Americans are getting their benefit checks sent to them overseas. That's up from 413,000 from just a few years ago.
The State Department says five million people have retired and left the country. One of the reasons: the cost of life in those foreign lands is a lot lower.
One of those ex-pats is Lori Kostiuk. She and her husband retired, and moved to Portugal and spoke to 1080 KRLD about it.
