Your local Post Office may soon have another service available that it hasn't offered in decades.
The Postal Service is about to begin check cashing services for people that don't have a regular bank available to them. It's something the Post Office hasn't done since the mid-60s.

The experiment will start in Washington DC and the Bronx, New York.
Customers would be able to cash their payroll or business checks. In some post offices, you'll be able to cash checks on your debit cards for up to $500 at a cost of about $6.
