Donald Trump will end up having to walk back promises to hold an extensive press conference to present alleged evidence of election fraud in Georgia if his legal team has any say.

Trump announced the press conference in order to refute the indictments handed down Monday by the state of Georgia that levied racketeering charges against Trump and 18 other co-defendants over what authorities say were the Trump team’s efforts to do exactly what Trump has accused Democrats of doing for three years: trying to “steal” the 2020 Presidential election.

However, Trump has been advised by his legal team that if he goes ahead with his planned press conference, he will complicate his already dubious legal situation, according to a report by ABC News.

Trump announced the press conference on social media, saying he would provide “A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia.”

Of course, those claims were refuted already in dozens of court cases that Trump lost, and Georgia continues to defend the integrity of their elections.

“The 2020 election in Georgia was not stolen. For nearly three years now, anyone with evidence of fraud has failed to come forward -- under oath -- and prove anything in a court of law,” Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp wrote in his own social media post.

The state of Georgia engaged in three separate ballot counts, including one that saw almost 5 million ballots hand-counted, and all three counts showed that President Joe Biden won the state and its electoral college votes.
