Two arrests have been made in the murder of an Iowa high school Spanish teacher. Both suspects are 16-year-old students.
Fairfield High School’s Nohema Graber had been missing for several hours before her body was finally discovered in the town’s Chautauqua Park on Wednesday.
One day later, Willard Noble Chaiden Miller and Jeremy Everett Goodale were taken into custody and charged with homicide in the first degree and conspiracy to commit homicide, according to a statement by the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office. Both teenagers will be tried as adults.
Graber had taught at Fairfield High, where both Miller and Goodale were students, since 2012.
The school was closed today and will make counseling available to the school’s students, according to a statement released by superintendent Dr. Laurie Noll.
“At this time our students and staff's well-being is our top priority. As a community, we will stand together as we navigate any new developments. We also greatly appreciate your cooperation and assistance,” the statement read, according to KCCI.
Both Miller and Goodale are being held on $1 million bonds.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
