The Cook Children's Community Task Force has started a tough conversation about the number of children that have attempted suicide over the last few years. According to the hospital, it has seen suicidal patients increase 53 percent, since the start of the pandemic. The hospital had 434 last year alone.

The average age of a suicidal patient was just 14-years-old. And they're most likely to be girls. Suicides are the leading cause of traumatic death in children.

Cook Children's has a campaign called the JOY Campaign, to help parents see any warning signs that their kids are in trouble.

On today's Ask The Expert, Wini King from Cook Children's joined us. She's the chief of communications and the co-host of a podcast called "Raising Joy".
