The Big 12 is fining Texas Tech $50,000 for an incident involving one of its fans who was seen on video pushing a Longhorns player from behind after the game in Lubbock on Saturday.

Following Tech's 37-to-34 overtime win, Red Raiders fans were swarming the field at Jones AT&T Stadium when a young man in a red shirt ran up behind senior defensive lineman Ovie Oghoufo and gave him a hard shove in the back.

The fan quickly ran for it before Oghoufo even knew who did it. Horns coach Steve Sarkisian says he doesn't blame fans for rushing the field to celebrate a victory like that -- but said it would be good to find a better and safer way for everybody involved.

Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark says "...there is zero tolerance for any act that compromises the safety of game participants."
