The city of Philadelphia is said to be expecting a bus of about 50 migrants to arrive from Texas as early as today.
The bus was expected to depart from Del Rio over the weekend carrying migrants who crossed into Texas illegally. At least some are reported to be seeking asylum.
For months, states like Texas, New Mexico and Florida have been busing migrants to northern cities like New York, Chicago and Washington D.C. to protest President Joe Biden's immigration policies.
Leading up to last week's election, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said repeatedly that Del Rio and other border cities were becoming overwhelmed with illegal immigrants crossing into the US.
