Five people are dead and the accused gunman is hospitalized in police custody after he was shot by officers Thursday, police say.
Officers said they opened fire after the man shot at them as they pulled up to a home where five people were found dead. The family of Lori Aviles and her young adult daughter Natalie confirmed they were two of the victims.
Investigators do not know the reason for the murders.
