Grief counselors will be available today at the dozen campuses in the Cleveland school district which is mourning the loss of an eight-year-old student who was among five family members murdered by a neighbor Friday night.
Officials say Daniel Enrique Laso was a third-grader at Cleveland's Northside Elementary. Superintendent Stephen McCanless said Daniel came every day with smiles and brought so much joy to the teachers, staff and everyone here.
On Sunday, hundreds of people gathered in the Northside parking lot for a vigil in Daniel's memory.
Meanwhile, a 24/7 manhunt continues in east Texas where hundreds of lawmen are tracking down the killer, a neighbor of the Laso family who became outraged when he was asked to stop firing his rifle late Friday night.
The suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Francisco Oropesa. An $80,000 reward has been posted for information leading to his capture.
