Texas 13th least educated state in U.S. per study

A recent study ranked states from most to least educated based on 19 metrics including college graduates, and literacy and numeracy rates. Unfortunately for Texans, the Lone Star State didn't quite come out on top...

Despite ranking eighth in the rate of high school graduates, overall, Texas came in ranked the 13th least educated state, according to Scholaroo.

The study stated that Texas ranked 26th in the best school system category, 39th for educational attainment, 37th for school quality, 41st in SAT scores, and 30th in the share of master's degrees nationwide.

Massachusetts led the way overall, with 38th ranked Texas' neighboring states all finishing in the bottom 10:
40 - Arkansas
45 - New Mexico
48 - Louisiana
50 - Oklahoma
