Texas among worst states for teachers retirement plans

The state of Texas has a long way to go before it can say it's one of the top states for teacher retirements.

Equable looked at retirement plans for every state. Texas finished 50th out of the 51 states. Only Louisiana's is worse.

Retired teachers in Texas also haven't gotten a cost of living adjustment since 2004.

The best state retirement plans are in South Carolina, Tennessee, and South Dakota.
