When Buc-ee's broke ground on a new gas station and travel center on I-25 in Johnston, Colorado this week, the town was briefly in the running to claim the title of "World's Largest Buc-ee's". The title is coming back to Texas.
The company has just announced it will build a replacement for its existing store in Luling on I-10 between San Antonio and Houston. The new store will be next door to the current location and will cover more than 75,000 square feet - making it the largest location in the Buc-ee's chain.
"Twenty years ago, Beaver and Don had the gumption to change the industry by building the first Buc-ee's Family Travel Center in Luling," said Stan Beard of Buc-ee's. "We are humbled to have this opportunity to strengthen our roots in Texas and will continue to exceed our customers' expectations every chance we get."

The new location will have 120 fueling stations and the store's usual mix of snacks, barbecue, fudge, kolaches, and Beaver nuggets. The Colorado location currently under construction will have 116 fueling stations and cover 74,000 square feet.
Construction on the new location in Luling is tentatively scheduled to start later this year. The new store is expected to have at least 200 employees.
