Two Texans charged with possession of stolen mail, over 8,000 pieces worth $4M

A pair of Lubbock postal contractors have been indicted for stealing more than 8,000 pieces of mail valued at more than $4 million.

Official say the investigation marks the largest ever seizure of stolen mail ever in the Northern District of Texas.

According to reports, 22-year-old Joe Roy Rivas, and 35-year-old Jessica Lynn Solomon worked at Cargo Force, a USPS contractor that loaded mail on to airplanes at Lubbock International Airport.

The indictment accuses the two of sifting thru the mail looking for cash, gift cards, checks, and money orders. Among the checks they took, one for report at $241,000.

If convicted the two suspect face up to 45 years in prison.
