On Thursday, House committees will hear testimony about the mass shooting in Uvalde, one day after the Senate wrapped up its own hearing.

One such testimony came from Jazmin Cazares, the sister of a 9-year-old girl killed in the shooting, who implored lawmakers to pass gun safety legislation. She also questioned why pre-existing security measures failed.

"Come together to implement red flag laws that could save so many lives by taking threats seriously the first time around, before they become deadly," Cazares said.

Officials are still calling for answers from police in the wake of the shooting, including Uvalde Mayor Don McLoughlin.

"I actually want to know who the h*ll is in charge of this investigation because you can't get a straight answer," McLoughlin said.

Day one of the hearing brought over 13 hours of testimony. Day two focused mainly on mental health. Two witnesses were called to testify on gun safety.
