Virgin Hyperloop switches focus from passengers to cargo

Well, so much for the idea of getting into a tube to zoom to another big city in Texas in under an hour and a half.

Virgin Hyperloop has changed its business model for now, because of the supply chain crisis. It's decided that it won't be focusing on using the high-speed tubes for people. Instead, it'll be using the technology to transport cargo exclusively.

The Financial Times reports Virgin Hyperloop also just laid off 111 of its workers.

The Hyperloop could be ready to start cargo transportation within four years.
