I'm tracking a cold front this morning, now working its way through Oklahoma. It'll arrive here later on this afternoon, bringing a good chance or showers and thunderstorms, a few them could become severe with wind and small hail being the threats. A level 1 out of 5 for severe storms is in place across north Texas. Threats: Damaging wind and small hail, that may ramp up to a level 2, with new data coming in later this morning.
Right now, we're waking up to a cloudy sky and temperatures near 80゚! The sun will make a brief appearance this afternoon, as we top out in the low nineties.
After the rain moves out late this evening, skies will slowly clear and temperatures will fall into the mid fifties to low sixties by daybreak tomorrow morning. The record low for tomorrow morning is 58゚, set way back in 1902.
A beautiful day is in store for us tomorrow with highs only in the low to mid eighties!
Our cool-down doesn't last that long, we'll be back into the low nineties on Wednesday and in the mid to upper nineties on Thursday and Friday. Heat index values will approach heat advisory criteria, with the feels like temperature near 105゚ both Thursday and Friday.
A peek at your weekend forecast, another pattern change may unfold as the area of high pressure in the upper levels will push back to the west and a northerly flow in the upper levels of the atmosphere will allow another cold front to possibly stall across north Texas Saturday through Tuesday of next week. This will increase raim chances and drop the temperatures once again. I'll keep an eye on things for you as usual!
Have a terrific day and keep an eye on the weather later on this afternoon through the evening ...I will as well.
