Near record breaking heat this weekend, a little cooler Monday and Tuesday with a few scattered storms around, and then we heat right back up after that.
We've felt 11 triple digit days in a row now and we'll add at least 3 more through the weekend. An Excessive Heat Warning is in place for today and will most likely be extended through the weekend. Also, the grass fire danger remains high, especially west of 35W. Afternoon highs today will reach 106°. Near record-breaking Heat this weekend, 107° tomorrow and close to 109° on Sunday.

I'm still thinking a weak cold front will slide into north Texas on Monday, bringing temperatures down a bit and producing some scattered showers and storms by evening. Afternoon highs will still top out around 102° at DFW, cooler to our north.

Unfortunately, this front will lift back to the north on Tuesday and I'm forecasting a high now of 104°. There's a very slight chance of a late day storm Wednesday and Thursday with high temperatures between 105 and 108°.
Some of the extended model data is showing another possible cold front by next weekend. Time will tell.
